Stark had coffees and cupcakes with him today when he arrived at the clinic. He'd baked yesterday just because he'd needed something to do.

"Here, take one of these!" A nurse said, handing him an item as.soon as he had a hand free.

"What is it?" Stark asked.

"It's a crababiner. Obviously."

"Obviously," Stark echoed, looking at the crab's tank curiously.

The clinic was open, the crab was maybe responsible for some odd accessories, and the alien was in

When the students got to their personal simulations today, they were outdoors, with a red balloon hanging from an arch a distance away. There was a red velvet rope to stand behind, and next to it, a Kitty standing with a table full of supplies and a task.

Pop the balloon. You must stay behind the rope at all times. You may not move the rope. You may buy the tools you need with time. You must not use powers. Fastest wins. Your time starts when Kitty has shown you all the tools in her tool shop.

Liliana was extravagant, everybody knew that. Which was why she thought absolutely nothing of having her steward bring Josu from the mansion down to the shop because she wanted some kitty cuddle times. If anything, it was a much shorter distance than to her office in the school, which was usually where he ended up bringing her cat.

Neither cat nor mistress seemed particularly fussed either way, Liliana sending that day's shipment of thopters zooming through the air for Josu to try to catch.

The vet had discovered that Caleb was from the 1930's and as Caleb accompanied them on their rounds they'd been picking his brain. That had evolved into a conversation about pop culture and a specific author had come up.

"Well the problem I've noticed, one of 'em," Caleb said, grunting to lift the current patient onto the examination table, "anyway, is that the feller was writin' about things so alien as to drive men mad or what have you...

"you're doin' fine buddy you're okay" he soothed the dog,

"But he was so small minded that his notion of that was-"

The dog let out a yelp when they saw the nail clipper.

"Right? See this gal knows what I'm talkin' about."

The swamp was waking up. And with all that life, returning, it was sapping most of Pam's energy - so much so that she'd only been in and out over the past few weeks.

But she did hold a responsibility, at least to the plants inside the shop and in the little garden, so. This Monday, tired and blinking away a night of just a few hours of sleep, she made it back to her shop with bag of fertilizer in hand.

Did she think Adrian would let anything die? Of course not. It was the principle of the matter.

"I see the climbing plants are doing just fine," she murmured to herself as she unlocked the front door and went in.

Someone had been doing some routine check-up in the records department - it was in the basement, it qualified as a department - and someone had found out that someone else may not have shared some crucial information about dates.

Specifically, his birthday.

If only I'd checked a week earlier, I could've made it in time.

Still. The best time to do this might have been last week, but the second-best time was now. And so Jesse showed up on Bucky's doorstep with a gift-wrapped package under a shoulder and a strawberry plant in a little pot with artificial light in her other hand.

She knocked.

Happy Saturday!

I'm going to be doing a little maintenance today. It will likely cause a tiny interruption of service (specifically for www.dreamwidth.org) on the order of 2-3 minutes while some settings propagate. If you're on a journal page, that should still work throughout!

If it doesn't work, the rollback plan is pretty quick, I'm just toggling a setting on how traffic gets to the site. I'll update this post if something goes wrong, but don't anticipate any interruption to be longer than 10 minutes even in a rollback situation.

Good morning, everyone! It's time for all the news the squirrels saw fit to report! I do hope they did well yesterday. Make this worth getting out of bed for, please. I wanted to sleep in.

At the school, Overcoming Obstacles was tasked with bathing Mr. Stark and Mr. Rogers's dogs, Combat 101 was introduced to the hammer, and Cupcakes of the World(s) watched an educational programme. In the town, Dr. Quinn worked on a window display at Needful Things, whilst at Miss Skywalker's warehouse, she and Dean Skywalker worked with a...holocron, whatever that is, and I'm sure I have pronounced it wrong. Additionally, Mr. Dooley visited Galactica Point, and thus end my notes, so I shall be off for a cup of tea. Farewell until next week, dear listeners!

So, the fifth wedding anniversary gift was wood. And Tony was Tony, so that was a bit of a struggle for him. That was, until he got an idea. Yes, the sort of idea that would have Pepper popping some antacids, but still.

They had the chalet and that was all well and good, but this was a special occasion!

So, he bought a castle.

For Steve. Without warning him ahead of time as he swept Steve off island to celebrate their big day with promises of a surprise.

"They did mention that we could dig a moat if we really wanted the castle vibes."

Sorry, Steve.

Today, the students would find...a rack of hammers.

"Fear not," Thor assured them. "You will not be judged on technique." At least not out loud. "Today is merely about familiarizing yourself with another form of weaponry. That it is my preferred weapon is irrelevant." Uh-huh. "We have a variety of options here, from true warhammers to smaller mallets, as a warhammer is quite heavy. You will note that my Mjolnir looks somewhat different from any of these; that is because it was forged with a shorter handle than is typical. If you would like to know the reason, perhaps you should ask Dr. Blake." Thor smiled, wry. "Norse mythology is his field of expertise this semester, I believe. So. Find a hammer that feels good to you and take a few swings at the practice dummies. See what you can learn by doing, and I will aid you as I can."

Rey had been gone last weekend, and she'd returned with a shiny new holocron. Well, it was not shiny or new but like most of her things, it was simply new to her. She'd gotten through some of it earlier in the week, but it was slow going when she'd been making notes as she went.

She'd brought it to the warehouse today, both so Anakin could see it, and because she actually did need to get through it all.

Harley was in good spirits this particular Friday, humming along to the radio as she hustled and bustled around the place. A box had come in with a bunch of random extremely nineties things in it, and that meant Harley was working on a new retro window display, and adding stuff to the tiny vintage clothing section, and also trying things on from said vintage clothing section.

Yes, all those three things were absolutely necessary, and not just the result of Harley having a particularly bouncing-off-of-walls kind of day with her attention span.

Honest!

"As we learned last week, weather and exuberant dogs are a muddy disaster," Steve said, "and with breeds this smart, sometimes getting them to focus and stay still enough to wash them off can be more strenuous than any obstacle you run through."

Thus the obstacle course made of everyday items behind them. "The bathtub's in the middle. Of the three dogs, none of them love it. They will go in three different directions when they hear that 'b' word."

"Which means we have to be creative with it," Tony said. "Strategic. Also, use the help available. Meaning all of you. I'm not sorry at all."

Steve shot him an affectionate grin. "Of course you're not. Fastest student to get one of the dogs into the bathtub wins. Ready...go!"

Good morning, everyone, it's Steve Rogers with the news of yesterday. First off, the news of today--happy anniversary to my husband Tony.

*chittering*

No, we didn't get married on Friday the 13th. We got married on Saturday the 13th.

*dubious chittering*

I wasn't asking your opinion, pal. Let's get to classes. Norse Mythology finally got to Loki and my friend Bruce's assessment that his mind's a bag of cats remains correct. Sorry, Thor. Cinema Studies watched a relaxing film about tornados destroying everything and the idiots who chase them, and Liliana taught her class what happens when you mix red and white mana.

*chittering*

No, apparently it's not candy canes. In the library, the gremlins were weeding out old books

In town, the Supper Club was out for steaks at Outback, Thor was lost in thought at the Devil's Nest, and Steven was humming at the museum.

And that's everything! I'll see my students soon--the rest of you, have a good weekend.

“This week I wanted to find cupcakes from another planet in some universe,” Stark said. “But I haven’t found a recipe yet that I will think will work here.” Some of them were likely extremely toxic to humans. Maybe to Baniks as well. Stark didn’t really want to test that out just yet.

“So instead I’ve decided to have a movie day. TV day, really. It’s an episode of a show I used to watch here, called Cupcake Wars. This episode was about space. A space shuttle, which they used to have on this world but they don’t anymore, I don’t think, but they weren’t like ships where I’m from…right. So. They had to make cupcakes themed for space. And also for the United States and Russia because they have the most people who’ve gone to space from here, I think.”

Stark sighed softly. “One of the cupcakes are made from borscht. I haven’t made one of those but I do have some of the peanut butter ones.”

No borscht. Frightening cupcakes were for other classes, not this one.

“So, please feel free to eat. I have the recipes from the episode if you want to try making any of them another time. Or just to look at. For now…just enjoy the episode of the show?”

There was a cart marked WEEDED near the circulation desk. Belle wasn't sure where it had come from. She didn't recognize any of the books on it either, or the towering stack of books between 2 gremlins at a table.

They were gleefully crossing out barcodes and adding red DISCARDED stamps to the books before tossing them at the cart.

Belle hoped the books were meant to be added but if they weren't that was certainly something best dealt with by the librarian himself rather than by her.

It was time, Lydia felt, to once again explore the cuisine of Australia!

No, she had not yet gotten the memo that this was not authentic Australian food, and would be very disappointed, should she ever find herself in Melbourne, not to find Bloomin' Onions aplenty, but that was a problem for Future Lydia. Tonight, she and her friend would eat steak.

Welcome to Supper Club, everyone! The island's Outback Steakhouse is open!

Thor was in a mood tonight at the Devil's Nest. He seemed to be mad at someone? Maybe someone who had talked about his nephew as if there was something strange in Thor's brother seducing a stallion and giving birth to a foal? But that was silly, Thor hadn't even been present for that class, just like Don wasn't present at the bar to be mad at.

(Don, for his part, was staying in the void and quiet. He wasn't having this fight when it was objectively weird, Thor.)

The Devil's Nest was open, and Tiny kept glancing at the blank specials board as if wondering if Thor planned to put anything on it or not.
